They say all is fair in love and war. Israel obviously was not going to allow their aerial cease-fire to be taken advantage of by the International Terrorist Organization, Hezbollah. And of course Hezbollah rather than caring about innocent lives, decided to take advantage of the lack of air support and immediately went on the offensive. In doing this, Israel had no choice but to protect its position and hit a few targets from Hezbollah.
The Israeli air force then went in for immediate annihilation of said targets. Is this foreshadowing of things to come? Will there be a cease-fire only to be broken by the International Terrorists groups? Then Israel will respond and you cannot expect them to not reciprocate. This notion of disproportionate response is utterly bogus, in that if someone cold cocks you at a bar, you need to completely knock them out immediately? Hitting them back will do little if anything to prevent further action by the lunatic who already hit you once without provocations.
There is no such thing as a disproportionate response in war. Go read Carl von Clauswitz; On War. You see the 48-hour aerial cease fire was for civilians not for International Terrorist Organizations who kill innocent people. Dear Hezbollah; 48-Hour Aerial Cease Fire; Just kidding!
